What is Angelic Layer?
Angelic Layer, was, at the time of its original broadcast in 2001, the most popular anime show in Japan.

Misaki Suzuhara is an 11 year old girl who moves to Tokyo to live with her aunt. After seeing an Angelic Layer battle on TV, she buys an egg and raises her own Angel, which she names Hikaru, to fight in the Angelic Layer. The story follows Misaki as she learns more about the game, and those who play it.
